The applied English major is considered a modern specialty, and what distinguishes it from others is its tendency towards the applied side of linguistic knowledge more than the theoretical side, as it teaches the theoretical side to students, but the practical side is dominant, as it focuses primarily on enabling students to teach students communication skills such as listening skill speaking and reading.
